Consultation Format:

The frequency and number of the follow up consultations is very individual, depending on the patient’s severity of the disorder being treated, the patient’s ability to adapt to the lifestyle and comply and the patient’s overall motivation. This will be at the end of the first consultation and assessment.
As the patient, you will come away from the first consultation with Tabitha having performed a full physical, dietetic, lifestyle and emotional evaluation. You will have a basic understanding of your problem, and the possible reasons for the onset thereof. You will also  have  an understanding of the very basic principles of the steps to take, and will be able to start immediately with a simple menu-plan, recipes and shopping tips and lists.

The second consultation will equip you with problem-solving from the first week of following the diet (Tabitha loves problems – this is the only way to ensure that the plan fits snugly into your own lifestyle and budget). You will learn how to understand the actions of different nutrients in your diet and how they affect your individual condition. You will be asked to go for blood tests (only if absolutely necessary), and how to completely understand all the concepts relating to your condition and how to look after your body yourself.

The third consultation and thereafter cover physical monitoring, ongoing issues with dining out, entertaining, travelling, cooking ideas, new products, fabulous new recipes that match your lifestyle, preferences, budget and time constraints. This, most patients find are important to maintain ongoing compliance to ensure long-term ease with following the diet. They also cover all ongoing questions, explanations and problem-solving, and will serve to equip you with enough knowledge to eventually treat and manage your own condition yourself, without any need for a dietician (unless you like the ongoing monitoring and motivation, which Tabitha recommends, as a dietary and lifestyle change can be challenging!)

Any SHORT questions can always be fielded to Tabitha in concise emails to , but all long questions to please be referred to the next consultation date (which gladly can be brought forward if necessary). The treatment is yours, not mine! We will always work at your pace, not at a general pace!! This is because everyone has different issues, different problems and come to the consultations with different expectations.

Tabitha insists on a very high level of professionalism, and so any problems, criticisms and issues you have with Tabitha, the diet or the approach must be discussed openly with Tabitha immediately, without hesitation and with confidence that constructive criticism is WELCOMED not defended.

If there are any other questions, please do not hesitate to email them to .

When you are ready, please contact Sam (our receptionist) on 011 706 7623 to make an appointment that suits your time. If she is not available, please leave a massage, and we will contact you within 24 hours.

Looking forward to meeting you!!
