Hi There,

determining how much carbs to eat is quite tricky. In a nutshell, you need at least half of your calorie intake to derive from carbs. To start with, I usually say to people eat 1 portion of carbs three times a day, with each portion being the size of your specific fist (not what’s in the fist, but the actual 3-D size of your fist).

This would apply to someone who is only moderately active, is an adult and who has excess fat to lose.

Remember, that the carbs should be low GI if you want to decrease insulin problems, lose weight and control blood sugar levels, so check out the GI list!

Happy Eating!
